Sam also recorded an assisted sack while up against Texas A&M's tackle Jake Matthews. Matthew is expected to be a first round draft chose. Daniel Jeremiah says he does not think this will affect him being drafted. "In my eight years in draft rooms, the subject never came up. I would expect it would not have an impact on his draft status," Jeremiah said. "In my experience with every team I was with, it was all about putting the best 53 players on the field. I don't see why that would change here." Due to his size he expected to be switched to an outside linebacker. He will be placed there so his pass-rush skills will be utilized more. Michael Sam was one of the best pass rushers in college football this year. Sam also told espn that he is an openly, happy gay man. He states he wants to own his truth.
